چکیده

different La concentrations for the purpose of suppressing antiferromagnetism. The values of x prepared are x = 0, 0.15, and 0.5. The samples were grown in single crystal form using an In flux technique, then characterized by x-ray diffraction, magnetic susceptibility, and specific heat. Magnetic susceptibility data reveal that as x increases, the antiferromagnetism of heavy-fermion CeRhIn 5 is suppressed.

Effect of La doping on magnetic structure in heavy fermion CeRhIn5

The magnetic structure of Ce0.9La0.1RhIn5 is measured using neutron diffraction. It is identical to the incommensurate transverse spiral for CeRhIn5, with a magnetic wave vector qM = (1/2, 1/2, 0.297), a staggered moment of 0.38(2)μB at 1.4K and a reduced Néel temperature of 2.7 K.

Magnetic Properties of Heavy Fermion Superconductors Cerhin5 and Ce2rhin8

Some recent neutron scattering works on CeRhIn5 and Ce2RhIn8, together with related resistivity and specific heat measurements, are summarized. In spite of its layered crystal structure, CeRhIn5 is shown to be 3 dimensional both magnetically and in transport. We also find that the Fisher-Langer behavior is closely followed in CeRhIn5. This may circumvent the Kondo lattice model and support appl...

Interplay between different states in heavy fermion physics

Calorimetry experiments under high pressure were used to clarify the interplay between different states such as superconductivity and antiferromagnetism in CeRhIn5, spin density wave and large moment antiferromagnetism in URu2Si2. Evidences are given on the re-entrance of antiferromagnetism under magnetic field in the superconducting phase of CeRhIn5 up to pc = 2.5 GPa where the Néel temperatur...

Fermi surface reconstruction and multiple quantum phase transitions in the antiferromagnet CeRhIn5.

Conventional, thermally driven continuous phase transitions are described by universal critical behavior that is independent of the specific microscopic details of a material. However, many current studies focus on materials that exhibit quantum-driven continuous phase transitions (quantum critical points, or QCPs) at absolute zero temperature. The classification of such QCPs and the question o...

Dynamical mean-field theory within the full-potential methods: Electronic structure of CeIrIn5, CeCoIn5, and CeRhIn5

We implemented the charge self-consistent combination of density-functional theory and dynamical meanfield theory DMFT in two full-potential methods, the augmented plane-wave and the linear muffin-tin orbital methods. We categorize the commonly used projection methods in terms of the causality of the resulting DMFT equations and the amount of partial spectral weight retained. The detailed flow ...
